Stability at higher speeds
It almost has a floaty feeling in the front end.
Are the aerodynamics that bad?
I had a 89 Supra turbo and it felt like it became more stable with speed.
Any thoughts would be appreciated
I hear the newer style front end had less drag.. not sure about downforce.
and the car is an 86 auto .. mostly stock

I have always understood the underneath 'vacume' effect is caused by the air rushing around the car and creating a sort of venturi effect in the back of the car, 'sucking' the air from below, just like a downdraft carburetor.
In order for this to occur, the air should not be allowed to go underneath the car but be routed around it. Take notice of many race cars with very low air-dams in the front and sides, but a 'high' butt.
The removal of the "3 plastic peices fron under the front" could be the problem, as they are meant to both direct air upward into the AC condensor/Radiator and also likely to direct air around the car.
One other thing to check is the alignment. If slightly off, it could also contribute to a softer/floaty feel.
BTW, unfortunately due to road congestion and too many cops, have never had ours above 100, but at 80, it sures feels rock-solid (and it has all new air-dam pieces).
Use Front Air Dams. Air dams at the front of the car restrict the flow of air reaching the underside of the car. This creates a lower pressure area under the car, effectively providing downforce.
How's the rake?
