Sometimes when I go to release my emergency brake, it seems like the cable is stretching and stretching and stretching.....I am concerned that the time will come when I will not be able to release the brake. At that point, I would need to get towed.
Sometimes it seems to release fine (at least better than other times).
I do not remember seeing many threads on this issue. So, is my e-brake cable ready to be replaced? Is that difficult?
Don't know really but when I pulled mine out it wasn't that big a deal to remove so replacing it shouldn't be too hard.
Isn't there an adjustment on it to take up the slack? Check the FSM for adjustment instructions.
Good to know it was easy to remove......I did not want to begin a project just to find out that this is the 'one fix' that all Corvette owners fear and never attempt.....I will also check FSM.
I'm curious why I'm the ONLY one who seems to know how to release the brake!?! When they pull the car up at the dealer, the brake's still on (although the handle is down). Restaurant valets. My nephew. Everybody does the same thing. They just push it down.
I'm going to get a piece of cardboard that fits in front of the speedometer, with an arrow on it that points to the big red light that says PARK - and write DON'T DRIVE IF RED LIGHT IS STILL ON!!!!
