1990 temperature
HELP!!! On the road, my temperature runs great. It runs at about the 1/4 position or about 185 degrees. However, when idling for even short periods, it will warm up to over 3/4 of the entire gauge or somewhere around 230+. Is there a problem?

Sounds about right. On my '93 LT1, the primary should engage at ~226 (coolant) ~228 (oil) and stops when the temp drops by ~5 deg. The secondary should engage at ~234 (coolant) ~235 (oil).
I'd let it idle one day and verify the primary is operating for peace of mind.
