So i'm replacing the shocks on the C4 and the drivers upper shock bushing was shot. So all I see for a replacement after digging are the poly bushings. Are these going to go squeek squeek and drive me ????
Yes they squeek after time.Or you can buy roller bearings from Guldstrand (REAL EXSPENSIVE).
ok....im in the dark ages...what are roller bearings from guldstrand?
Im pretty green to the C4...but the shock replacement is something I can handle...
ok...I googled them. Don't see any shock bushings from them. Just a pricey coil over package (plus add another $900 for FX3...and thats what I have)
I think I will go squeek squeek...

duh...never thought of Summit or Jegs, I was just looking at the corvette parts houses.
This has the FX3 suspension, so I think the bushings are different, but not sure. Looks like they are from what I see.

Shoot, you could get some rubber from any supplier of shock bushings and make some to fit. They cant be all that hard to do.
I just bought 4 new Bilsteins and the Poly kit. I was gonna replace the bushings that came with the shocks from rubber to poly. So if you want them let me know and we'll work out a price. I'll probably be installing them this weekend if the Poly kit comes in tomorrow.

Your talking about your old rubber ones? If I can get new Rubber thats what i would like to do. There pretty cheap...but let me know what you have. And are they for the FX3 suspension because they are different than the base shock grommets

Depends on which bushings you get if they're going to squeak. Do not get any colored bushings like the red ones, they don't have any graphite in them. I got the energy bushings in black with graphite advertised in them and I have no squeaks, I had just about every bushing in the car replaced a few years ago.
Get the poly ones. Grease them with marine trailer bearing grease. You won't have a problem. Replace the lower C-arm bushing too while you're at it. On my previous 86 convertible I did a complete poly bushing swap out and after two years, never heard any squeaking.

I meant the new ones that come on the shocks. My Bilsteins came with all new rubber bushings on them and I'm not planning on using them. I have the FX3 as well. Am I thinking of the wrong bushings?

stallion8797....Sorry for my delay...I'm not getting my thread e mails for whatever reason. Appreciate the offer...
Where did you order the shocks from? I had my buddy get them at his cost ($175 each) from Corvette America and they were in Bilstien boxes but did not come with any bushings. Just the one under the cap for the rears, but not the insulators at that sandwich together on the top of the shock where it mounts. (fronts)
Ended up calling Bilstein and they have them in rubber. They sold me a set direct. They are rubber, so I bought 2 sets since they were cheap. The guy at Bilstein knew exactly the problem I was having with all the parts houses. All I know is the ones I was seeing everywhere online were nothing like what came off the car. The FX3 shock shaft is a different size than the stockers, so these are definitely different.
