clicking sound coming from drivers side rear wheel as I accelerate. U-joint or wheel bearing? Started this morning as I left Captree, does it as I come out of a left turn. 93 Ruby Vert automatic
Clicking sound is almost certain to be a U-joint...you might also hear a kind of hollow, tinny echo with the click caused by the corresponding half shaft or drive shaft.
This might sound stupid but have you checked the washer and bolt assy. on the shock? I only ask because it happened to me last year. Needless to say, I felt completely stupid when my mech spent about 12 seconds underneath the car before figureing out the problem.

Could be some of the above or...there is a washer that fits on the rear spindle. $10.00 for a pair from your local chevy dealer. It is metal and is teflon coated. If yours is worn out or worn away it will cause a clicking sound. do a search on this and you will see multiple threads about it and you can find the part number too.
Checked all the U-joints all seem good, checked all the posts on the teflon washer behind the bearing hub. Everyone who has had the same clicking sound repaired it with the washers. I ordered two from the dealer today $16.01 will let you know how it works out Thanks to all for the help

Picked up the new teflon washers yesterday , had some time today pretty easy fix, spindle nut and three torx bolts came right off, new washer and back together. The Whole job took an hour and a half. Its raining out now as soon as it stops I will take her for a ride and see if noise is still there. again thanks for the help
Finally stopped raining long enough to take her out for a test drive. Clicking was loud and sounded serious, $8 per wheel and one and a half hours labor and all fixed, no more noise. I never would have thought of the washer without this forum, thanks again to all
I'm thanking you guys in advance for this post. I've paid to replace U-joints, and assumed I'll be paying to do that again because my other rear half shaft is making a click now.
I'll try this washer replacement before u-joints. Thank you!

Did this noise come and go but not stay steady? I have heard a light annoying noise in my 95 that is driving me nuts. I hear this on accel and sometimes while cornering but it is not consistant.
noise was not steady, it would come and go. It was real loud could hear it clearly in or out of the car, only when accelerating either straight or out of a turn
