Every once in a while my lights blink out (head lights and dash lights). It's so fast that the first few times I thought that it must of just been ME blinking. I haven't noticed any particular thing happening (changing RPMs, bumps, etc) when it does it. And I can't "make" it do it either. The last time it happened I was just sitting in the garage at idle dreaming that it would eventually stop snowing! Any suggestions on where to start looking?
Re: Lights Flicker - any suggestions? (vetteman32)
It sounds like the circuit breaker in the headlight switch. It is a self resetting breaker, it may just blink for a second. The same thing happened in my '89 Daytona... when I took the switch out, it was all but melted.

I get the same thing. It normally only happens the first 5 minutes after starting when the car been sitting for a few days. The only time I really notice it is when its dark and the headlights are on. There is a noticible blink. I figure its something with the Alternator while its charging up the battery. Just have not had time to test it.

Gordon Killebrew (the C-4 guru) says to check the various grounds. They seem to have a tendency to loosen, etc. If my memory is correct there are a couple off the engine to the chassis that would affect the whole car. Ther are others that ground out specific functions such as the dash, etc. but these are function specific.

I had the same problem in my '86. I first noticed it one night while sitting in my driveway warming up the car. The dash and headlights were fluctuating a little ... randomly.
It turns out that the negative battery terminal was loose. Tightened it, and no more problem.
