I have an 89 heavily modded with TPIS long tubes, etc. See profile. I had the Magna Flo catback put on and it sounds great!

Do your 1 5/8" have a 2.5" collector? Then I'd stick with a 2.5" system, though catbacks can be larger.

I have the Magnaflow catback. 2.5" awesome looks and sound. No joke, people are constantly telling me, "Wow, that actually sounds like a race car! Awesome!"

This is a 383 SuperRam with LPE 1 5/8" long tubes w/2.5" collector out the Magnaflow catback.

Mine's an LT1 but I went with a 3in cat back for my blown stroker.

With that supercharger, you'll have no problem getting air IN, getting it OUT's another matter.

I have a Magnaflow on my car, and I like the sound outside the car, and it sounds good at WOT. However, the drone in the car at cruise sucks. I'm probably going to swap out the mufflers for something else because of it. If you want to give the Magnaflows a shot, I'll sell you my mufflers.

Ditto, so I switched to Corsa.

Mine is a convertible. Do you think I'll still have a drone problem? The top is down most of the time.

With a 383 I expect you are making at least 425hp at the crank and that requires over 900cfm of exhaust flow, which cannot be had from a single cat nor a single 3" pipe. The best bet is to go with at least 2 1/2" true duals with dual hi-flow cats as you need >450cfm slow down each side.

Where can I get a bolt on system that will match up to theTPIS headers?

I don't know about a bolt-on system; I'd take it to my local performance muffler shop.

I've seen a Magnaflow cat-back that split into dual pipes just after the cat hookup point. I'd think a performance shop could weld up that and get the cats connected along with a nice "X" pipe in the proper location.

Around here I use Mufflex, near Trenton, NJ; Denny's guys do top notch work.

I don't know how the drone would be with a convertible, I've never even ridden a C4 convertible.

My Magnaflows are attached to a dual exhaust system with a Dr. Gas X pipe. A local muffler shop built the system, I supplied the mufflers, X-pipe, and the headers were already on the car. The shop only charged me $140 for the fabrication and install.

If state inspection will allow, you can mate an LT1/4 exhaust up to your headers and run dual cats.

Older than 96' is emmisions exempt in Illinois.

I'm thinking I might just use the magnaflow 2.5" cat back, with or without the cat.
