Default Need help ASAP...

Urgh, Since my hood wont open (the plastic hood release hinge part broke) I can't open my hood.

Today I got a low coolant light, and I need to change oil here soon.

I need to add coolant before I can drive it again. So I need some help on getting that hood open.

My release lever broke too. I used a pliers and held the end of the cable housing with the pliers being careful not to grab the inner wire with it. Then I was able to pull the lever far enough to pop the latch. Something like that might work for your problem. Good Luck.

Ask and you shal recieve. If you need it done fast, try to fabricate something like this. If you can get ahold of the cable that the latch was attatched to, since you said that just the latch broke and grab it with some vice grips and pull on it.

Yea the cables are still attached to the hood release.
Just the hood release is off its hinge, so it cant get the proper leverage on the cables.

Just use pliers or Vise Grips and pull staight back towards rear of car. . . A new latch and cable can be bought at Chevy dealer for about $38 once you get the hood opened. . .

Since the cables are still attached, I tried to pull the release back with my hand. But I couldn't generate enough force to pull the release.

Did you try to use vice grips or pliers or just hold the cable?

Just a thought but you may have broken the latch because the cables are bad. You should look at another C4 with the hood up. This should give you an idea of what you need to do to trip the latches. It looks like it would be hard to do blind.

I was thinking the same thing, since you said that you were pulling hard on the cable and nothing was happening. They might be tripped up somewhere, and when you pulled the latch it broke because it wasn't able to move.

I went to pull on the cord, and something snapped, and tension was released, and the black part that surrounds the cable petruded from where it normally sits.

heres some pics...

Aight, Could someone please tell me where this tool is supposed to go?
I looked inbetween my cars door towards the hinges, and saw no place where this tool could go.

Inbetween the hood and the engine bay, it has that foam weatherstrip stuff.

So Where does it go?

Pics?
Could someone please scan their instructions they got with it>

I don't have the product, but I think that it goes through the space up toward the windshield.
