I only owed this 86 for a little over a year. This passed winter I had the heads reground and the springs replaced. Then I spun a bearing. Know I keep seeing this question on the site. Did you have your car tuned. Call me old school but what is all envolved in tuning. I also worked with TPIS and had the chip up dated.
"Tuned" would mean "have the PROM chip edited". Meaning: have the fuel and/or timing tables changed, most likely. Same thing as changing the jets in a carb and playing with the distributor advance curve in a mechanical advance distributor.
Wouldn't be anything you would need after a simple valve job, and wouldn't have anything to do with a bottom end problem (like a bearing).
I didn't think it was why I blew the bearing. I just was wondering what all They were doing when you get it tuned.
I also was wondering what is the max RPM on L98
Gets the most power out of whatever you are running.
True dat. But for the large majority of mods a tune is not essential in a MAF car. The MAF, O2 sensor and the EST/knock sensor will do a creditable job in adapting to changes.

Thanks for pointing that out. I did not know that. Isnt it the cam/heads swap that need the biggest tune, then super/mini/stealth/ram on a Maf car though?
