i got problems with my powersteering pump, it started to scream when i steer with low rpms, and i got more worse every day, and soon the power steering was totaly gone.. the belt slips over the pulley, when you steer, the pump stands still.. i changed the pump to a new rebulid one form corvettecentral and everthing is same it still dont work? ideas what can be the problem?
You've got the infamous morning sickness...the rack is gone. You'll probably need another pump; debris from your imploding rack probably jammed up your pump. Be sure to flush out all your lines before you reassemble everything.
I thought that morning sickness was sluggishness that improved after a few minutes. I am trying to imagine why your belt is slipping over the pulley and turning the pump. Can you verify that the slipping has continued after replacing the pump? If so, are you sure that you have the right belt and is your tensioner functioning? I don't see how a bad rack would prevent the pump from turning.
The belt is new and the right one, it slips on the pulley, when i turn the steeringwheel, then the pulley is standing stilll, and the belt slips on it, when i not steer it turns normally with the pulley

I'd check and be sure the belt is correct length (I know you said it's correct) and that the tensioner itself is good--I've never heard of a pump or rack doing what you describe--It just sounds like the belt is not tight enough---Based on your description--that's my 2 cents
i measured the belt its correct lenght 68 1/2'' the tensioner and all the other pulleys are new, only the powersteering pulley is a little weard down, the belt isnt slack, weird problem...weird is also that it started slow and get worse every day, and with the new pump is all the same
