Default New engine Lt1 N/A setup. Any ideas?

Hi there. I´m thinking of building another new engine for my Lt1 -92 next winter, but it´s allways nice to share some ideas with others. The current setup is 350ci, stock pistons, rods and crank. Everything is balanced and ARP-bolted. Comps 07-467-8 cam with comps HR lifters, pushrods and beehive springs. Pushed through 1,6 steel rollers. The heads and intake are ported stock with BBK 58mm TB. Full lenght steel headers and self made X-pipe. 36lb injectors and a homemade chip for the moment. It runs good, but i want more, and i like to rev them high =). So i was planning to tear the s*cker down in a couple of month and go with this setup.

355ci N/A application, fully forged rotating assembly, Eagle or Callies 3.48" crank, 6" H-beam rods w, ARP-2000 upgrade. J/E or Mahle pistons, fully balanced. Topped up with a pair of Advanced Induction 100% CNC'd Trick Flow 215cc LT1 Competition Package. With a AI custom grinded solid roller cam. I will not budge until it reaches 7500r/pm. I think i can be a pretty nice package. But i have´nt decided what Compression ratio to go with. Do you have any ideas to share?

Thanks.
/Johan.

For high rpm, you'll need a big cam. So i'd run as much compression as you can. LT1's can do up to 12.0 to 1 but getting that compression on a 355 is hard to do. You'll need a small chamber head and then i'd be worried alittle about piston to valve clearance

Stock LT1's are 58cc. AI trick flows are what? 64? i know TEA trickflow 215's are 64cc. To get over 11 to 1 with that, you'll need a slight dome. 5cc flat top gets you 10.4 to 1.

have them shave the heads down to 58cc if possible and you'll get much better 11.2 to 1 with 5cc flat top

Hi allright, that sounds like a good idea. 11,2:1 should work. I was planning to go 383ci at first, i built one of those for my -85 C4 some years ago, but the piston speed at those revs are not to play with =)
. Looked up theese Mahle pistons on Summit. It´s probably best to order all the stuff i need before i begin tearing it apart. Partno: SBC250030F05. BTW i found this pretty interesting build on a quick search on Youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vWMmDbzf_SI

Good idea on 6" rod. Keeps piston weight down
