140 amp Vs 200 amp alternators
Can I install a 200 amp alternator in my LT4? Will that cause problems/fire/etc?

It shouldn't cause a fire, but the output wire that connects the alternator to the battery may not be large enough for 200 amps of service. I doubt very much that your 140 amp alternator ever delivered 140 amps. If you don't have added aftermarket high power consumption electronics, then I wouldn't worry about it. The safe thing to do (and its not expensive) would be replace the output wire with one that can safely carry 200 amps and also replace the fuse or fusible link(whichever your C4 has).
