1993 PROM swap fixed engine start problems.
I've been trying to help my dad get his 1993 manual trans vette running for the past couple of weeks now. Finally today we got the engine to start and stay running by taking the PROM chip from a wrecked 1993 automatic trans vette that he also has, and putting it in the ECM on the manual trans 93. Make sense so far?
What lead me to do that was that when I would pull the codes from the manual trans 93 it would give C41 and section 4 would show ERR. Now the question I have is will I have to worry about the odometer or vin # in the computer being mismatched? And will the fact that I took the prom from a automatic and placed it in manual trans ECM cause problems?
