K&N Air Filter
My 93 Ruby needs a new air filter so I am going to get a K&N open box. Where is the best place to get this item. I see in MAD they run $120, any other places sell them for less? Thanks, Perry :seeya
You can get the filter from Summit Racing (www.summitracing.com) or one of the Forum vendors. Get the cleaner and oil in the spray can at the same time. Don't bother with buying the lid from MAD as you can cut the OEM lid open to do the same thing.
Got mine at Mid America...1990-96, part # 609-009, K&N Air Flow Pkg. $119...(Tele...1.800.500.8388)
Just buy it and get it over with..you only have to do it once... :D
If you go with cutting the lid open yourself you can paint it black once again. I just did mine, but I did mine in red. I have a red color scheme going under the hood of my car. All I did after cutting it out is I smoothed the ruff edges down, then sanded it down after cleaning it. I then primed it and painted it....it look awesome....but most everyone goes with K&N, and a cut out lid...
If I remember, in the MAD catalog they have two cut lids, plastic and metal. I purchased the plastic one and am not that happy with the way it fits (it bends when you tighten it down) if I had it to do over again I would cut my old orignal one or by buy the metal one.

Re: K&N Air Filter (OURRUBY)
Thanks all for the advice. I have a couple more places to check out and then it's decision time. Next decision will be tires and wheels. Although with 32k+ the original GSC tires don't look too bad (but I hate the noise) :seeya
