Turn on the a/c - if that doesn't drop coolant temps 8 to 10 degrees at idle, it isn't how it left the factory and you need something other than a switch. Your fans are controlled by the ECM. With a/c, they will come on sooner and run longer to keep the refrigerant running at a pressure that doesn't blow a hole in the hood. The switch, which you could buy and screw into a cylinder head boss, needs to be spliced into the ground or the driven side of the fan relays. It will then do what the ECM does, only at whatever temperature the switch is set to close at. It won't rely on the inputs the ECM uses to do the same thing and it won't correct a basic cooling problem. Speaking of which, your fans aren't used at cruise and it should be hovering around the thermostat - if not, you really should find out why.
