Default seafoam?

I was talking to a guy about this stuff and the miracles he claims. I am not totally understanding what it's purpose is other then removing carbon buildup. But what advantages would it have over just using distilled water after all engines with blown head gaskets are pretty well steam cleaned right? My 90 had the blown head gasket and its piston and and combustion chamber looked almost new.

I saw one guy attempting this and that car smoked more then anything I've ever seen, would there be a high risk of hydrolocking the engine and bending rods? What is the result to the o2 sensor, catalytic converter? Or is this stuff intended for cars on there last step from a junk yard? I mean I have pulled my trans am's top end at like a 150k and there was no excessive carbon buildup anywhere but then again its always been maintained.

wouldn't it just be safer using a fuel injector gas tank added cleanser to clean the motor like this?

This stuff works wonders! I've used it on my truck and it really did all it says it will. 1/3 can in the crank case (change oil within the time period specified afterwards), 1/3 slowly into the intake (while running) and 1/3 into the gas tank. Simple! But don't do it like I did the first time: 10AM on a bright sunny Saturday morning, in my driveway when 3 of my neighbours were all out mowing their lawns, and the neighbour (downwind) had their windows open! (I live 1-1/2 blocks from the firehall - so I was really worried that I'd be seeing a big red truck rumbling down my street & headed my way! Next time it'll be midnight, in a dark parking lot, across town! LOL!)
