Default A/C Question on Controller

I have a 1994 C4 and the A/C controller is mechanical. I like the digital interface better, the one that has the temperature readout. Can I replace my mechanical controller with this digital controller (found on eBay)and it still work ok?

May be a dumb queston I know, .....

This is what I'd like to have. My existing A/C controller is the mechanical type with no digital readout. May be a "no-brainer" question but if possible, I'd like to upgrade to this one:

You will probably need to find all the parts to go with it. The digital runs on a vacuum source to move things instead of cables.

Good Luck

Nightmare in the works.

what radio do you have?

the C68 option on my 90 also sends voltage to the radio rec.

I don't think you will be able to just plug and play on this one, unless in 94 they
wired for both systems.

If you're very handy yourself or have very deep pockets..it may be possible..best bet IMO would be to find a salvage/doaner car..if it's something you just must have.

Just to name a few parts the control head you have pictured..programmer..in car temp sensor..sun/solar sensor..electronic temp door motor...wiring harness...vacuum harness...blower control module and I'm sure I've missed many other parts. I would guess the heater/ac housing itself is different. What you suggest would involve a whole lot of work/time I'm sure there are many forum members with on going problems w/C68 system--that wish they had a manual system JMO

Doesnt manual control have a different fiberglass case/shrouding for the AC and Heat than the C68 setup? I think the 2 are completely different.

I would stick with the manual. I have automatic in my 89, and much don't like it. I'd like to be able to just take one second to adjust from max heat to max cool, instead of having to hit a little button a million times.

Plus, with the C68, you have more things to go wrong and is harder to diagnose.
