need help picking a cam
i need help picking a cam. i have a mostly stock 350 original engine in my 1985 corvette. i have ported intake and runners full borla exaust i would like the 1.6 roller rockers. what cam would match that? and i dont drive it every day. i want it to sound mean

I just installed a CompCams XE262H & 1.6 roller tip rockers in my stock 86. Although it has the 3.07 gears the bottom end has suffered somewhat. It does come on around 1700 and keeps pulling past 4600 RPM. And it sounds more like a "Corvette" now.
If I was to try another, I'd go with the 260XE.
BTW I did not have to trim the rocker drip tabs in the factory valve covers. Just used the complete CompCams kit with springs, lifters, timing gear set and cam. (Rocker arms are separate) Heres the best part. www.atlanticspeed.com P/N K12-238-2 $284.88

This cam would be a great one to start with and modify with 1.6 rockers, I wouldn't believe their claimed RPM range as its duration would assume more of a 1500-5000 range. Now if you want to do the swap and go with 1.52 rockers instead, this cam maybe be better suitable. Duration is a bit longer and the lift just about maxes out the use of the 85's iron heads.
Instead of swapping cams, you may be able to get maximum flow from the stock cam with just the 1.6 rockers, I don't know exact flow #s from the irons but I know they weren't all that great over .450-.460
