Tach filter question

Tach filter question
After I installed my mallory 6al, my tach seems to work sporadically.
Sometimes its fine, and then all of the sudden it starts to "bounce" around.
I searched on the forum and it seems I need to bypass the "tach filter".

Do I have this filter on my -91? I cant seem to find it. Can it be locaded somewhere else?

I dont know if you have one but I suspect you do. I recall it being on drivers firewall "near" where the EST disconnect is. When I added Acell super coil module I had same issue. Disconnect helped at lower RPM but above 5000 still was an issue. ended up adding Autometer tach.

Found it.. 
Should I use the tach output from the malloy ign box unit, or just use the stock wiring now that I cut out the tach filter?
Perhaps either way is fine?
