Which seal do you guys think is most likely the bad one?
On my sons 95 (39k miles), theres a leak coming from the front of the engine. It doesnt look like the oil pan gasket. It seems to come from above that. I can wipe it off, then as soon as I get back home to check it, its trailing oil on the pan from the front towards the back. Is it most likely the crank seal, opti seal, or the water pump shaft seal?
Of those, I'd think the crank seal would be the most likely culprit. Are you sure it's not coming from the front of the intake manifold? Mine had a leak there at about the same mileage, and I found that the intake bolts weren't torqued properly at both the front and back - once I tightened them up, it hasn't leaked another drop.

the LT1s are known for intake leaks (oil)..check the bolts first As far as the timing cover goes ..should it turn out to be one of the seals--it would be wise to replace all 3 seals.
I hadn't thought of the intake bolts. Didn't know that was a common place to check. I will definitely try tightening them up and see what happens. Thanks Guys!
