i took out my actuators, and zip tied the bilsteins to the desire level of damping so now my shocks are hand adjustable.

I went with KYB's. They were in the budget, and a good shock for the $$$ IMO.

Way better than my worn out Bilstiens.

94 LT1 with 106 K miles, replaced the Bilstiens with new Bilstiens, from Ecklers (cheaper than anywhere else). they do great.

You do know that you can have your Bilsteins rebuilt?

I have the original Bilsteins on the rear of my 89. The PO replaced the front shocks. They are red with no markings, so I don't know what brand they are. The ride is harsh, and the CD's skip alot. Haha.

I've got 50,000 miles on a set of KYB's and still running strong. Good bang for the buck.

Bilsteins drive great, very comfortable with the "softer" FE1 suspension.

Get the Bilsteins (FE1 stock suspension), avoid edelbrock like the plague. I had edelbrocks on for six months and they were terrible. Hitting little bumps on the highway was like getting hit in the back by a sledghammer. The fronts were ok, the rears were stiff as h#ll.
