Default How did yours do?

Guys,
I am trying to rate the performance upgrade after all my mods. I have been trying to get some tuning time in, but my laptop will freeze up and then regain communication with the car? I have a post on Thirdgen and an email to Craig Moate discussing the problem. Moreover, I was wondering how much more performance you guys got out of your cars after tuning? Or was it pretty much the same afterwards? I know this is kinda an open end question, but just thought it would be neat to know what to expect. There are several things I know need programmed into the chip. Right now I am just using the stock ARAP bin. This from what I read has way too much timing for a setup like mine and no EGR provisions. I am planning on getting some tuning time in next weekend, but the weather will have to co-operate. Let me hear your thoughts...Thanks.

You can modify your chip's settings in the car? Like on the later ones. Can you collect data while your driving too? That would be great for optimum tuning I think if you had a baseline and a few runs after each mod you would be able to share info on what combinations of tuning specs best accomodate each upgrade. I believe you could dramatically improve performance with prpoper tuning. I hope im on track with my comment im not sure what you setup is exactly but if its like that on an early c4 its interesting cause i thought beyond a scanner for codes and swappin aftermkt chips the computer was limited.

BLk90,
Well I think you kinda understand. I am asking if others with the mods I have were burning rubber 40 ft after JUST installing the engine components or did they have to get a chip programmed or do one themselves before realizing the cars potential. I am using Craig Moates logging software and tunercat to mak my custom chips. These items are pretty readly available to anyone. Thanks for the comment perhaps more will help me out. Glock you just had some serious improvements, how does you car feel. I realize that you have to keep it below 3500 so you might not be able to help as of yet. I can definately tell mine has more crap. It pulls very hard to redline, and get to over 100 mph much quicker than before, all while still pressing you hard into the seat. The startout is not all that different than before, although my little "BOG" is gone. Let me hear what your thoughts are on this. thanks

Oh ok. I misunderstood. I thought you had some wild set up with your ecm. I get it now. Thanks for clearing that up. :seeya
