Default LT-4 fuel psi.Need help

What is the fuel psi set at on a stock LT-4? If I purchase an adjustable regulator is more psi recomended, and what should it be for more HP?My car is stock except for a 160 stat and a K&N filter .

Just turning up fuel pressure is not a reliable way to gain HP. 160* stat and K & N basically gets you nothing.

suppose you were to put an AFPR on and crank up the pressure on a stock engine with stock computer.

When you start such an engine it will run rich because the comp will be using the default injector pulse. When the car goes into closed loop it will see the rich condition and shorten the injector pulse. Now you will be getting the same fuel over time as before but who knows if you're getting the best spray pattern with the higher FP and shorter pulse width?

You could remove the O2 sensors and replace them with emulators so that the comp thinks you're not running rich when you are. Ok... what good does running rich do?

Performance gains are out there but one change gains are rare. It's like yarns of a sweater.

My 2¢ Set a specific goal like an ET in the 1/4 mile or BHP or set a budget like $5,000 and then make a comprehensive plan for performance.

I know of few reasons to buy an adjustable fuel pressure regulator.

Example: I'm at ~480 chp and 7200 rpm with OEM 120,000 mile FPR.

A tune up is better money spent.

LT1/4 run rich from the factory. Turning up the pressure makes it worse and hurts power even more. You can't apply L98 logic to the LTx.

Stock is 41 to 43 at WOT (or with the vacuum line to the FPR disconnected).
