yesterday driving home
temp according to digital display climbed up til 235 f
the needle gauge was almost at the 260 mark
pulled over as soon as possible
coolant was draining out of the bottom of the rad area; noticed a path of coolant on the road
noticed the secondary fan was not on
i have aftermarket chip that is supposed to turn the fans on sooner
also water pump and opti about 2 years old
is it safe to fill up with water and drive it anywhere
which is more accurate the digital display or the needle gauges
also no check engine light came on
could it be thermostat stuck
also this is original rad
what are chances of head gasket etc damage
all answers appreciated
I guess the first thing is to try to get the car home where you can check it out and find where its leaking from hose, water pump, head gasket, check thermostant operation, fan operation ect. Sounds like your loosing a lot of coolant should be easy to figure out from where.
