Default Need Oxy Sensor Upgrade Info

I need to upgrade the Oxy Sensor on my 85 to a heated sensor to compensate for the slow temperature rise of my new Hooker 2149s. Does anyone know what year/make sensor I should buy? I'm going to tap off my fuel pump relay to provide the 12V the heating element uses.

Default Hummm

I wonder what this means?

Maybe this should be in ECM/PCM Tuning.

NHVett,

Check in the forum's tech tips section. If I remember right, someone had posted instructions on installing the heated O2 sensor (because I printed out a copy thinking I would do it some time in the fututre). :)

? I've got Hooker 2151's ceramic coated and have the old one wire unheated sensors without any trouble, my A/F gauge works and updates quickly as soon as I fire it up. Is it setting codes or something?

Just curious why you would need to go from a $20 sensor to a $50 sensor.

O2 sensors are very sensitive to temperature

reference: http://www.slowcar.net/shares/o2_volts.xls

they may work and respond fine, but will generally be "offset" but a certain
amount. With longtube headers a heated style o2 is a good idea generally.

You can pick up a sensor for a 94-95 f-body or corvette. If it was an option you specifically want a pre-cat o2 sensor.
