Default 92 LT1 Questions

I'm told that 1.6 roller rockers will not fit under 92-93 LT1 stock valve covers. Is that true for 92-93 Lt1s? I'm also told/read that to fit taller after market valve covers that I have to change my alt bracket for the 92-93 Lt1?? Last question, since I have a electric water pump on my LT1 can I run a double roller timing set for 86-91 sbc??
TIA, Bob

1.6s will fit if you cut the drip tabs out, yes you will have to get diff alt bracket for taller covers, dont know the last one.

THANKS for your reply! So I will need a alt bracket from a 94-96 Corvette LT1 for taller valve covers. I think i will just replace them with a cover that are the same hight.

You'll need to upgrade to the Gen II opti setup to run a SBC double roller. The swap consists of: 95 timing cover, 95/96 opti, 95/96 opti wire and vaccuum harnesses, and another camshaft with a longer dowel and different hole for the opti.

Thanks for your reply. I just bought a MSD opti a few mon ago. So I will not be changing it. I guess I will just go with a new lt1 timing set.
Thanks, Bob

On my 96, I went with the Proform valve covers but had to grind the alternator some to get them fit.

You are probably right, I was just saying that even if you use a later model bracket you might still have to do some grinding depending on what cover you go with.
