Transmission Problems 1989 Automatic

In the "when you least expect it" category, my 89 automatic started shifting from one auto gear to another suddenly just as one with a standard transmission would do if the driver popped the clutch out after shifting. Shifting is no longer a smooth transistion. I dont think that it shifted into 4th gear when it got up to speed.

There has been no history of problems with it.

Any ideas?

The only thing that comes to mind is the TV cable may be out of adjustment, try resetting it and see if that solves the problem.

Until I did some research this morning, I did not know what a TV Valve is.

Thats how we learn!
