Default L98

Hey guys! As some of you know, I am in Miami, just fixed my spun bearing and, some other cool stuff going on. My brother has a completely stock '86. I am not at all familiar with easy L98 mods. What can we do to improve this cars performance without spending a lot of money?

All info appreciated...

What do you consider a "lot of money". Give us a ball park.

Well, I know you guys do some simple things like, opening the air box, boostinging pressure, etc. Easy tinkering stuff, not opening up the engine. He can wait on the heavy stuff until he's ready for a rebuild. How about fine tuning tips and "tweeking"?

1. Cut open the air filter lid and get a K&N filter.
2. Adjust distributor to 8.5 degrees BTDC timing.
3. Adjust throttle position sensor (TPS) to 0.68v at idle.
4. Remove main cat. :reddevil

Is the car an auto or stick?

Hey may benefit from adjusting the kickdown cable on the tranny then at the throttle body. I forget the exact procedure (i'm a stick), so I'll let somebody else jump in on that one.

I just set mine to the recommended .54v and it runs perfect. What will your setting improve?
Very very slight edge in throttle response.
