Default Flashable ECM for a 91

I have installed a decent amount of upgrades on the L98. A few of them are hardware. However, all of these upgrades are currently worthless because i have the stock ECM and the computer has readjusted everything in an attempt to "fix" it back to stock. I have looked into ordering a new set of PROMs programed for my upgrades, but I collecting more upgrades and it would end up being a waste of about $300 - $500 bucks through www.tpis.com. The best thing for me to do is to "flash" the ECM. Problem, the ECM is not flashable. I need a flashable ECM. I have found a kit from Edelbrock http://www.summitracing.com/parts/EDL-35100/. But it comes with a new wiring harness (cool, but unnecessary) and the ECM is not compatible with the stock wiring harness connector.

So, after all that reading, this is what I need. A flashable ECM that connects to my stock wiring harness.

*btw, that kit looks awesome. includes fuel management, but don't need it right now*

As I recall '90m and '91 run speed density which is simpler than MAF, but very intolerant of mods. The ECM is not returning to stock, but adjusting the fuel tables in an attempt to delivery proper fuel based upon feedback (voltage) from the oxygen sensor.

This is an issue for and expert with these tables and I am not one.. Nor is a mail order chip going to deliver that most your engine can deliver. Finding a good shop that is experienced with proper tuning is damn tough, as I have found, and sadly, I cannot recommend one.

There was a shop near Miramar, whose owner had a BBC in an '87. It was Top Flight 858-547-8388 8510 Production San Diego, CA, and if he's still around, he may know where to get your hotrod PROMed.

Contact Formato @ http://www.fasterproms.net/contact.html

They did my tune...$350 and if I made any changes they would re-tune for nothing.

All I did was hook up my laptop and read the data at cold start, cold idle, warm idle, cruise, then a blast at WOT. Saved the files and emailed them with a detailed write-up of the things done to the engine. A week later I had a new prom in my mailbox. Changed it out and did the same readings all over again until we were happy with the tune. They got it spot-on in 3 tries (and the first shot wasn't too bad to be honest, just not "optimal").

It shows they only do LX series cars now, but I'll bet they still do ours as well.

Only works if you are in the general area....

Formato will ALSO do a dyno tune...just need to get the car to Tampa to do it.

It isn't that big of a hardship...if you have the time to do it.

Plus...the Arturo Fuente factory store is in Tampa...and they have killer cigars for the right price

P.S. I was looking across the posts the other night and saw this one http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c4-t...n-l98-lt1.html
