Front swaybar bushing replacement question
Note: The part numbers in this post are for an Energy Suspension front swaybar bushing kit for a 30mm swaybar.
For those who have done the changeover to poly bushings, I'm in the middle of it and can't be certain where I'm supposed to put the no.3282 Thrust washer bushing on the front swaybar. The (poor) diagram makes it look like it fits around the swaybar sleeve on the inside side of the swaybar. Having said this I cannot see why you'd put it there.
Also, after pressing in the 8029 swaybar bushing and sleeve into the metal swaybar sleeve, it pops right out about a quarter of an inch. Any ideas on why it won't stay seated?
This front suspension rebuild has taken far longer than I intended and I have the $%^s with it now. I just want to finish it and am sick of getting crummy instructions with most of the aftermarket stuff I buy. Any help/advice is welcome.
Re: Front swaybar bushing replacement question (Red 90 L98 Coupe)
I just recently did the swap using Vette Brakes parts, some of which were Energy Suspension parts. My lower bushing should be different than yours, but my upper link busing is the same (I think). Anyway, I put the thrust "collar" bushing on the inside. The instructions in my kit were pretty specific. Why is it there - not sure on that one.
