Default Casting Number? Can't Quite Make It Out

I guess it's just another indication of old age, but I need the casting numbers of the LT1 heads. I want to offer my son's 96 LT1 heads for sale and want to be accurate as to what castings they are. I can read 10207?48.

It's the "?" digit that can be either a 8 or a 6.

Can someone please post all of the, I believe, three casting numbers the LT1s had factory installed so I can tell which ones we have? Hopefully through the process of elimination I'll know which ones they are.

Thanks for any help.

Jake

Jake, I'm pretty sure they are 643's. From what I've read they are the prefered casting number for porting.

Thanks for that info.

I'm going to buy a Sherlock Holmes type magnifying glass tomorrow to have a better look. When I put them up for sale I want to be sure I post the correct casting number.

Only thing worse than posting inaccurate casting numbers is a Woman Scorned, LOL

Yep, you're right.

I found them listed on a NHRA Tech specifications site and at

http://www.kendrick-auto.com/chevrol..._number_re.htm which, as you probably know, is one of the NASCAR team sites.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
