My 87 gives a MAF code 34 when cold. It is OK (no Ck Eng Light) once it gets warm and is stopped and restarted. Until the code clears and it has been stopped and restarted it acts like it is running in "computer default" mode. The stop and start seem to allow it to get out of computer default and into normal computer mode. If it has not gotten warm enough the Ck Eng light returns when restarted.
The colder the weather is, the longer it takes to get warm enough to clear. In hot weather (hot garage) there is no code. Mild weather and it only takes a few blocks to get warm enough to clear. Cold weather and it may take several miles to get warm enough to clear.
Once it's clear everything is normal. Anybody seen this before?
