Default Seat Cushion Removal...

I read a couple of earlier threads but none were about 93's... I'd like to switch the cushions for wear purposes... I'm mechanically challenged so I need all the help I can get... thanks

I have a 92, black w/tan no less, and as far as I know the seats come out the same. It is really quite simple. The bottom cushion is held with a clip at the front center and simply rotates down to come loose. A screwdriver works fine to flip the clip. (It is about 2 inches wide). As for the back cushion, they are held in by two verticle slots about 2/3 the way up (one on each side). You have to push the cushion toward the center (middle of the back) real hard and then pull out. Once you get one out you'will see how easy it is. Putting the back cushion back in does take a little patience.
Hope this helps.

Hey 92 thanks for the reply... BTW nice color choice .... I found the clip under the front of the seat... rotates down ?...flip the clip ?... the clip moves front to back but doesn't seem to release anything... bear with me... also will the bottom cushion come out without removing the back... thanks...

Just push the clip back a little and the bottom cushion will come out. On mine I can push the clip with my finger and the cushion comes right out. You don't have to remove the back to take out the bottom cushion.

If you can stand on your head you can actually see a small ledge or groove on the seat where the clip rests. Just slip the clip off the edge and lift out the cushion. As stated earlier, they are four separate cushions.

Also a few weeks back, Zip had an article on replacing the seat track on a c4. It showed a picture of removing the cushion & the clip. Might check this out if you are still having trouble. It doesn't say anything about the back cushion tho.
Good luck..

I realize that this is not directly related to the seat cushion scenario, but close! I have two power seat racks that won't move in one particular direction. (it's not the switch) They make a bzzzzzzzzz sound when you try to move them.. is it stripped gears in the rack or something else? Thanks in advance for letting me tag alone on your post!

On my 89 both back cushions are held in by 4 clips, one on each side about half way down and one on each side of the headrest. Swapped mine last week, whole job took about 20 minutes. Once you get one out you'll see how easy it is.
