Red Line Shockproof Gear Oil
Hello everyone,
I have an 89 corvette with the ZF 6 speed that is making a nasty sound from the bell housing underneath. The sound is like rocks in a can or the sound of a diesel truck running. Has anyone had any success at eliminating a sound like this by means of a different type of gear oil. I am currently using 10w60 synthetic oil in it. I have heard someone recommend Red Line Shockproof. Does anyone have any success stories with this brand? If you did not use that brand, what did you use?

I recently switched from Castrol 10W60 to Red Line Lightweight Shockproof. The trans seems a little quieter. But, I doubt it will make a big difference with your noise. I would try to find the source of the noise.
