Default 96 brake rebuild recommendations

Now that I'm in the process of making my car go faster I thought it is time to make sure the car has reliable stopping power.
The brakes work okay, I did put in a new brake booster but I'd like to flush out the old fluid because there's 108k on the car. I want to change the pads to ceramic would be my first choice, and upgrade the rotors to drilled and slotted. I see Summitt offers some options. I really don't want to put a grand in this reconditioning. Thoughts, or recommendations appreciated.

Your 96' already comes with 13" rotors. I purchased slotted rotors from Hawk Racing and Hawk HPS pads fours ago. Great stopping power, with very light dusting....its a good agressive pad.

IMHO, drilled rotors are for looks only so you can save some money there, go with slotted. Use the extra cash to go with braided brake lines. The Hawk ceramic pad is excellent, as mentioned above. You doing any racing or just street driving?

I would get a set of plain rotors, there is numerous one out there. The napa rotor is a quality inexpensive rotor. I would look at the carbotech bobcat street pad if you are looking for a low dust performance ceramic pad.

The Carbotech Bobcat 1521™ is our high performance street compound that is our most successful compound. The Bobcat compound is known for its awesome release and modulation, along with unmatched rotor friendliness. Like our AX™ & XP™ line of compounds, Bobcat 1521™ is a Ceramic based friction material offering minimal rotor damage and non corrosive dust. Bobcat 1521™ offers outstanding performance, even when cold, low dusting and low noise with an excellent initial bite. This compound’s virtually perfect linear torque production provides incredible braking force without ABS intervention. Bobcat 1521™ operating range starts out at ambient and goes up to 900°F. Bobcat 1521™ is suitable for ALL street cars, perfect for your tow vehicle, police cruiser, and has won multiple SCCA Solo 2 and Prosolo National Championships. The Bobcat 1521™ compound has been found to last two-three times longer than OE pads you can purchase at a dealership or national retailer. Bobcat 1521™ compound has also been found to extend the life of your rotors 2-3 times. That’s one of the beauties of Carbotech Ceramic brake compounds. Bobcat 1521™ is NOT recommended for any track use.

Thanks for the info, I will look into the Hawk Rotors. Speaking of police car brakes just last weekend we were on the way home and had to get by a fire truck and some police cars. It looked like maybe there was a fire at the apartment complex because we could see smoke by the police cars, hell looked like they were right on top of the fire. As we drove by it was actually the police cars brakes that were smoking. Another police car zoomed by us and no sooner than the cop got out of the car the smoke was just pouring out from the wheels as we drove on. They were responding to a shooting we found out later and it was 90 degrees out.
