Default AIR pump?

Is that the thing that is under the driver's side headlight(in the little pocket, by the horn)?

I am going to get rid of my EGR, and I was just assuming that the AIR pump was the thing that had a tube running from the EGR to it.

Nope. The AIR pump is belt driven. It is on the drivers side above the Power steering pump, on the very top. It is quite large.

    Not on mine it's not. But it's definitely not belt driven. All that the belt drives is the damper, the power steering, the alt, and the A/C. (and the tensioner). No air pump there on mine!

I'm with you BadAzzV8. The motor under the headlight is a vacuum pump or air pump.

The air pump (hair dryer) on an LT1 is under the driver's headlamp and is electric not belt driven, saves load on the motor and I believe it pumps air to the catalytic converter for emissions.
