Default Manual headlight bypass

I saw that there should be a manual bypass for the headlights on a tv show but I can't seem to find it on my 85. I would think it shoud be somewhere around the motor?

If you're looking for the way to crank them up/down manually, there's a **** on the end of the black cylindrical motor housing.

I have had trouble with the left headlight not working, now it's loose so I wanted to make it flush with the hood.

you want to lock the lights up (or down) on my '91 there is relay in left front wheelwell mounted vertically behind the vacuum storage ball tank, with two plugs; put the lights in the position you want then pull the plugs to disable the motors but leave the headlight switch functional.

It's most likely a $6 fix plus shipping, each side. The hardening gel they use form the factory turns to flakes, and the gear no longer turns. I just fixed mine. Three hard plastic bushings in place of the gel and it's good as new. I upgraded to the bronze gears which was un-needed. As long as the motors are still turning this should get you good as new.

Part at Eckler's (other have them too)
