Picked up the car today :)
Dropped it off last Thursday where I get my bigger projects done at and he called Weds and said it was ready to go. In case you didn't know I had the following done:
1. Spec Stage 2+
2. Alum. Flywheel (13lbs)
3. B&M Ripper Shifter (bought from a forum member, thanks)
4. Complete New Rearend and thicker batwing from newmancarcreations.com with 3.73 gears
5. DRM camber brackets and trailing arm brackets
So he tells me the shifter was a biootch putting in but WOW was it worth it. It is unbelieveable how the pattern and the throw is now! For those that have it, does it loosen up at all and is it normal to be "notchy"????? Drove it about 2 miles then went to get it lined up at one of my local Chevrelot garages. They spent 2 hrs(no charge for labor) on it as it was fubared! The clutch feels great so far. Peddle pressure is slightly harder then stock, barely noticeable. I can tell the alum. flywheel does help the revs alot!!!
I didn't notice that much "noise" in the tranny but then again if you have heard the car you know why. After the alignment I drove it home like a baby and boy was it hard!! I wanted to get on it so bad!!!
Speedo gear seemed to have the mph on point but I will verify later with GPS. I could tell the gear change in just about every gear. I did not think to look at the rpm in 6th on the highway at about 70mph (as indicated). The old DM and flywheel looked pretty bad IMHO. I will post pics later. I would say it's about 3/4 shot. Still have a minor oil leak that I thought was from the rear main seal. They said it looked good so I'm guessing it's the back of the intake?
So overall at this point, I'm happy and can't wait till its broken in.
Honestly I'm still kinda in awe of the shifter and how much that changed. Next day off work I will begin the detailing process as the car is utterly disgusting
Only pic I got from today when it was getting lined up.
