Does anyone know if this will send the correct signals to the CCM so you don't have a check engine light and the gauges work correctly?
I've read the website over a few times and don't see any mention of that. I wonder if you still need your stock computer in there to run the guages, etc. Unfortunately, as is always the case with me, they're out of the office all week and I can't call for more info.
I don't need the guages myself, but I do want to know if I can completely remove the stock computer.
Mojave, what did you do about your ATI pulley? Did you have to pull your motor? I'm soooo frustrated that I didn't see this until we got mine back in the car. This would have been a no-brainer swap a few weeks ago when the whole damn motor was apart. Now it's a PITA to get in there...
Brian, I'm running a Dynaspark III rotorless opti, Delteq and a Accel DFI 7 with the stock CCM piggybacked (I think it's a Painless harness). I would like to see what anyone else is using to keep the stock gauges.
I might have done that before I bought my new Painless LT1 chassis harness but it was (and is) still pretty new and so unproven. Does anyone know someone who is using this?
This might be the route I eventually go since I'm not a fan of the LSX engine sound and this lets you keep the traditional firing order.
You can run a conventional distributor, your just need someone to cut the hole for you.
EDIT
Or just plumb up a carb intake for EFI
Yeah, but spending $1600 on an ignition system is counterproductive on this car, and anything other than a factory igntion will assess class points, regardless of my reasons to install. And while I can make the necessary modifications to the intake, etc, myself, it's hard to stomach going backwards with technology. Although going carb'd may be the best solution at the end of the day
