I am not sure if that is the right name for it, but it is located off of the rear of the fuel rail and comes around to where the intake joins with the motor.
I am wondering what that is for and if it can be blocked off from the fuel rail. The reason why I ask this is that there is fuel leaking and I can not get it stopped.
I live in a hot climate, so I am wondering if I even need this working.
The cold start injector is NOT ECM controlled at all. There is nothing to "turn off" in the ECM prom to remove it. Actually, if you live in a cold climate, you have to "turn on" the prom, ie, modify it to supply extra fuel when doing a cold start.
The cold start injector is controled by a thermal time switch. It is located on the front of the intake manifold, right by the ECM coolant temp sensor. If cold enough, this switch will turn on, and stay on for a specified length of time, hence "thermal time" switch.
Just to update this. I took out my cold start injector and blocked it off. The car has to turn over a couple of more time to start, but not bad at all. No more fuel leak to worry about and seems to be running well.
