How do I tell if my oil pump is standard or high volume? The engine was rebuilt before I got it. My oil pressure runs 70-80 psi at cruising speed using 10-30 oil. The engine has approx 45,000 miles on it.

If it reads that much at idle your sending unit may be out.
If not thats pretty decent. No way to tell I know of other than pulling it off. Sounds healthy to me.
70-80 psi is at 2000 rpm. Idle is more like 50-60. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with the pump, but I do get some oil in the PCV. And it's puked oil a couple times when the PCV plugged. I'm thinking may be due to a lot of oil on the top side. No worries. Just curious.
my std volume high pressure runs at about 50-60 under load, 40-50 at idle. that is with a 400 though. unsure if the larger bearings drop the pressure any. i actually build all mine like that, std vol hi press.
