LT1 in c3 powersteering problem

LT1 in c3 powersteering problem
I just put a 1994 LT1 from a wrecked vette in my 79. After getting everything running properly I have only 1 problem, my steering is either locked up or jumps back and forth uncontrolably when running. Is there a big difference in steering pressure or is it something else. I havent been able to drive my car for 5 years now and this is the only problem I have left to resolve. Any help would be appreciated.
