1993 Engine hesitation
I have a 1993 Limited Edition Burgundy Corvette. Lately, I have been experiencing engine hesitation at any speed. I'll be going smooth on the road and all of a sudden, it'll hesitate but not stall. I can drive it for 50 miles and it may not happen. It's unpredictable.
On one occasion, while idling at a traffic light, the engine actually stalled. And it won't restart. I tried restarting a few times and failed. I let the car sit while I called for towing and came back to the car (about after 10 minutes). I tried starting it and it started.
I was able totake it home with a couple of engine hesitation along the way of the 25-mile trip.
The car has auto shift and I had the a/c turned on when it stalled.
My dealer shop has looked at it before but it didn't happen when they tested it and didn't try to fix it.
Where should I look? Thanks for your help.
Any codes or stored codes? Bad tank of gas?
Well, I have a relatively new Optispark, and relatively new spark plug cables - both of which I replaced when I bought it, but had not replaced the plugs yet (94 LT1, 110K miles, I bought it a year ago with about 100K miles).
So, I replaced the plugs... problem fixed. Runs smooth as glass now.

Hi Runner 140, I'll replace my fuel filter. It's almost about time I do that anyway. I use premium gas. However, my wife run it down low and I think she must have been running on fumes when she coasted to the gas station. She could have sucked in some dirt into the filter to hinder gas flow. Of course, that's wasn't how she described it to me. She said, she was just very low on gas.
Hi WPK, this is something I should do as well. It's most likely that replacing the fuel filter and changing spark plugs would do the job.
Thanks to all. One or more of your suggestions should resolve my problem.
