If you can, spring for the longer rods.....you'll get more leverage on the crank (bottom-end torque) and you'll get less side load on the rings...that's why I went with 6.00" rods :D

I used Eagle SIR Rods, which are fine for your application

Haven't hit the track yet....going this spring :D

I found my specs on my SRP pistons though:

SRP 138103

Bore 4.030, stroke 3.75, rod length 6.00, weight 397g, dish vol -16cc, comp hgt 1.125, with 58cc heads = 10.4:1 compression ratio, list price $516/set.

BTW, the Bushed Eagle 6.00" 5140 ESP SIR Rods were $300 list

Just looked it up on racenet.net I searched under your part no. 139628.

It looks fine with a 454 gram piston and same 10.4:1 compression ratio I have.

I will only add that because I have a longer stroke, the piston is shorter and thus weighs only 397 grams, which makes a big difference in rev response time.

But to answer your question, I believe this piston is fine for your application utilizing a 5.7" rod length.

BTW, what rings are you getting.....if I did it again, I'd go for the new Total Seal type rings to get a little extra bang for your buck. :D

I would probably stay away from a Total Seal/Gapless type rings. The theory sounds really good, but in real life they never seem to exhibit any benefit, and can quite often lead to problems.

Stick with a good plasma-moly ring (like C&A or Speed Pro) and you will be fine.

Yeah but you are stuck with what I consider to be a better rod length for a street car.May be if it was a 6spd I would rethink "I don't know what trans you have" But even if it is ,not the end of the world. In the end the tune up will make the difference.
