Or is there supposed to be a rubber cap or something over it? I think I remember seeing one on another car but I can't remember. The reason I ask is I have to set my climate control 5 or more degrees different at night than in the day, so I'm thinking that if something is missing off of mine it could be causing the sensor to give false readings. Although I don't know if it actually tries to measure the amount of sunlight, or if it's just "sun" or "no sun". Here's the pic:
Cool, thanks for replying, everyone. I'd call that a consensus. Someone must have taken a powerful vacuum to my car at some point in its past. There's at least one other tiny plastic piece like that that's missing from the interior, too.
I hate trying to find replacements for these minor little parts. I'm probably going to have to end up buying an entire sun load sensor from someone.
