Default Low coolant light stays on

The 'low coolant light' stays on in my 89 Coupe. There's sufficient coolant in radiator and overflow reservoir. Is there a sensor I could check and if so where is it located? Any other ideas?

Could also be an air pocket trapped in the system. Have you opened the bleed valves (if so equipped) or "burped" the system?

Watch out if you take off that sensor !!!
i found that cable was leaking (i didn't think anything) and i pulled it
while the car was HOT !!!! WOW...it throwed out all the coolant
i got hot coolant in my eyes ! thank god it wasn't that hot but it messed the whole engine
bay ...so don't take it apart if you are going to while HOT !!!!!

FYI, some of those sensors are a little post inside a cylinder. They work by measuring if the circuit is closed by conductive coolant (as far as I can tell). Sometimes the center post will get sort of cruddy and just needs to be cleaned off.

Default Burp the Radiator

Here is a good post concerning your issue:

This is L98 specific and may not apply to our fellow LT1 owners.

Best of luck.
