Hello All,

I just purchased a 1996 LT4, unfortunately the a/c blows out heater vents. I did a search here on the forum and determined I need the infamous programmer. Anyone have a 94-95 a/c programmer (black box under-dash) for a 96 they want to sell or know where I can purchase one?

Let me know,

Thanks,

Phil

Phil,
Try the easy and cheap first...change the check valve. It looks like this:

Its located under the right side fuel rail/injector cover ...pop out the old and pop in the new one...its under $5.00.

...though your dealer may say that specific version is Discontinued. They shoudl have a similar replacement on the shelf though -- it's a standard GM part.

From what you read in all the threads it should have told you that it is not the programmer gone bad, but the soft rubber vacuum line connector at the programmer. A new one is going to have the same exact problem....design flaw.
You will need to put a stiff plastic insert into each of the vacuum line connections. Easy to do....once you get the progammer out of the car.
I have some left over when I did this and can send you some or you can get some from McMaster-Carr or something like that. I do not remember the diameter, but it was a stock item. Only trouble was that there was a minimun buy...hence why I have extra.

Shoot me a PM.
