My fuel pump is coming on when turing on the ignition, going up to pressure then nothing.
It is carbed. The pump comes on, fills the bowl then stops. (seems normal so far.) When the car starts the pump never kicks back on.
I am pretty certain that I have fuel pressure above 4psi. My cluster is shot, though. (With as many times as I have started/restarted it under this condition, it would have siezed if no oil pressure.)
Any thoughts as to why it would be doing this? What to look for? Bad sending unit?

I am reading that the the ECM will energize the pump relay when it see pulses coming from the distributor. With mine being converted to carb, with a standard vac advance type distributor, there would be no pulses for the ECM to see, right?
If you've changed distributors you probably aren't getting a pulse. If you just used a plain distributor from say a 1975 Chevy with one wire you won't be sending the pulse. So why not just re-wire or change the fuel pump to one that runs all the time the ignition is on?
You probably could have kept the factory distributor when going to carb if you wanted. I did that on a car I used to have. It did all right. You'll need a good working oil pressure gauge because the automatic shutoff won't be there.
