bad after 68k miles in my 96 LT4. Going with a whole clutch kit. Any recomendations from any of you guys that have been there and done that, There are a lot of brands out there.
I have no info on which brand. AFAIAC they are all good.
What I would recommend though is to change the pilot bushing while you have it apart. It's not an easy job to do a clutch on one of these cars, so don't cause yourself to do it twice over a two dollar part.
I ordered a clutch kit from Carolina clutch for my 89 when I had the motor rebuilt. About 5k miles later, the t/o bearing came apart. I looked at the t/o bearing, and it was made in China. I ordered another clutch kit (just cuz) while I had the car apart and bought a Delco t/o bearing. The Delco was quite pricey but that is a lot of work to go through. The Delco part is noticably built better.
