I know there are at least a few of you around here and I also know that you all probably know this already, but I feel it bears mention anyway. The Great Champion, Michael Schumacher, will make a return to the F1 paddock starting with the next event in Valencia on August 23.
For those of you reading this who are not F1 aficionados, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to see the man who is arguably the greatest racing driver in history make his return to the pinnacle of motorsport. It is a dream come true for me. I can't wait.
I saw him at Indy too, the first year they ran there, 02? He was the dominate driver of his time. It will be interesting to see if he still has it at 40.
02 is the season that many consider his finest. On the podium at every event, only time it has ever been done.
Realistically you can't expect too much this time around. The car is not a dominant one this season and he will have no chance to test it, according to rule, until the Friday of the next event. He will score some points, and if he can sneak in a couple of podiums that's even better. Speaking for myself it's enough just to see him behind the wheel a few more times.
Good to hear the news early this morning. He is talented and will get all he can out of that car. Also, did everyone hear BMW is pulling out of F1? Will this be what gets them looking at NASCAR?

Yeah, I wonder if BMW are embarrassed about getting whupped by
Mercedes. They've had a miserable season. Renault isn't looking all that good either, there's talk about them possibly dropping out.
